Vehicle Arrival and Pickup at the U.S. Port

A vessel arriving does not automatically mean the vehicle is ready for pickup.

What happens before pickup?

Typical milestones include vessel arrival, discharge, customs/charge processing, carrier or terminal release and then pickup.

How will I know?

Where supported, Track & Trace can show shipment events using a booking, Bill of Lading or customer reference. Destination agents may issue arrival information before the vessel arrives, but ETA can move.

Can somebody else pick it up?

Possibly, but POA or terminal/carrier authorization requirements must be confirmed before arrival. Never assume a generic POA will automatically satisfy every terminal.

Can it be delivered to my house?

Yes as a separately arranged inland move when a provider offers it. It should appear as a separate quote item instead of being hidden in the ocean rate.
