Classic car import opportunity check

For older European vehicles, Ship or Sell checks the NHTSA 25-year age path and the EPA 21+ year path before comparing purchase price, true transport cost and U.S. comparable-market context. The NHTSA 25-year period runs from date of manufacture; EPA says the 21+ year path depends on original-equivalent engine configuration.

What the calculator separates

Purchase price, shipping-provider quote, duty/tariff, insurance, compliance, port/customs, inland delivery, registration and temporary mobility are separate lines. That makes the landed-cost estimate auditable instead of hiding everything behind one number.

Important federal import check

Vehicles under 25 years old that were not originally manufactured and certified to applicable FMVSS generally need a NHTSA eligibility / Registered Importer path for permanent import. Vehicles at least 25 years old can use the NHTSA age path, measured from manufacture date. EPA separately describes a 21+ year provision tied to the original engine model/configuration.
