Ship or Sell compares the actual Europe purchase price plus shipping and import-related costs against the cost of acquiring a comparable vehicle in the United States. A tax-advantaged purchase does not by itself prove the vehicle is importable or cheaper after all costs.
Purchase price, shipping-provider quote, duty/tariff, insurance, compliance, port/customs, inland delivery, registration and temporary mobility are separate lines. That makes the landed-cost estimate auditable instead of hiding everything behind one number.
Vehicles under 25 years old that were not originally manufactured and certified to applicable FMVSS generally need a NHTSA eligibility / Registered Importer path for permanent import. Vehicles at least 25 years old can use the NHTSA age path, measured from manufacture date. EPA separately describes a 21+ year provision tied to the original engine model/configuration.
